UP's Daneville subdivision HO Scale layout tour.

Come along on this 30 minute railfan tour, where we visit the dusty desert town Daneville and continue out to the hot desert. We will then go west to Duolith Cement Co., the largest industry in the area, where we will watch the switcher shuffle cement and coal hoppers. The footage was filmed on my HO scale model railroad during November and December 2013.

Due early January 2014.

CP RAIL E8 in HO SCALE

(By Daniel Dell’Unto)

Over the summer, major work on this one this past week (still a few small things left to add - ain't it always the way!). CP Rail E8 1800 as it appeared in the 1970's with in its Action Red colours. As most are aware CP only had 3 of them, and by the time the remaining two got action red around 1972/73 they were regulars on the Atlantic Limited out of Montreal (but I've heard they did stray from time to time).

This unit started out as an undecorated Proto 2000 model, with a bunch of details changed and added before being painted up. The main change was a bit of surgery on the front windows which were shaped a little incorrect, and the grabs on the side of the nose were added as well as some pilot modifications. It was airbrushed with True Line Trains paints and lettered with Microscale decals. Proto 2000 released a number of these models years ago in the old CP colours and VIA, but never in red, so I had to do up my own:

For any modelers interested out there, I put up a short build article here outlining a few of the steps:

Bowser HO "Executive Line" GMD SD 40-2

These locos are in the design stage.
We are asking for input from anyone that has knowledge of these models.

Canadian Model Railroaders. Bowser is designing this model Canadian. We are not making the EMD version and just making a few changes. This is designed from the ground up as GMD built.

Here is the second set of engineering drawings for our all new GMD SD 40-2. I am asking for any input about these designs. If you spot something we have missed or have incorrect please contact me at bowser@bowser-trains.com. If you do have corrections please include proof. Just saying that you know is not enough. I need photos or documents.

The Road number is used to identify the group with the same body details. Please do not comment on paint schemes yet. We are only designing the actual body at this time. There are no ditch lights on any locos yet. They will be added with the next batch of changes. Thank you to Trains Canada ™ and to Fred Clark for a wonderful book "Volume One: Canadian Pacific SD40 & SD40-2s - Acquired New"
