William Baird's CP Rail RSD-17 8921 is a Broadway Limited HO Scale model modified from an Alco RSD15, and equipped with DCC and sound. The trailing unit CP RAIL 4505, is a Van Hobbies Brass C630M that has modified to represent a Big M in their 1980's appearance, including the large air intakes, etc. The train was photographed by Yves Cloutier on the Canada Central Railway layout in 2008. The CP train is moving eastbound passed the stopped CN Business Train, which is waiting at Carion Station. This Montreal layout was torn down over two years ago.
Graham Wood’s large 1/8th scale CN GMD1
The attached photos show the 1/8th scale locomotive as it was in early June weekend. A few items still needed to be applied-bell, horn, end drop steps, front shutter screen, M.U. air hoses on the end plates, brake cylinders on the truck sideframes. Etc it is built to 1/8 scale by a Port Coquitlam company for retired CN motive power manager, Graham Wood.
Graham Wood’s CP GP-9 8513 has a few steps remaining before it is complete. The GP-9 was initially controlled by a rheostat in a box connected to the unit with a plugged in cable. It is now going to be changed to radio control like CNR 1063. There is also a CN GP-9 in the works. He also built CP Diesel Hydraulic Switcher #15.

CN GMD1 VIDEO By David Othen:
The Sorel-Tracy, Quebec HO Scale Model Railroad Club located south east of Montreal about a 50 minute drive. I have had the opportunity to operate on the layout many times and it is a lot of fun! I have been assigned to Passenger trains and intercity Freights as well running locals and switching out industries. I have operated the Oil Refinery a couple of times as well. They use waybills and timetables, is dispatch in both French and in English as the prototype. They use a NORTHCOAST DCC system and follow Canadian Railway Traffic Rules and Regulations as close as possible. The modeled part of the layout represents Montreal and Sorel, Quebec and the yards handles eastbound traffic to Halifax, NS and westbound traffic destined to Vancouver. The layout is double tracked but is operated as if it was single track with long passing sidings, and there is a very long branch line with many industries and a large port and Intermodal facilities. Members (and guests) use their own motive power, with the rolling stock all club owned, and must operate their pre-assigned trains.
Modeling from the Prototype:
Central Vermont GP9 4442 at White River Junction, VT, in June 1983. Basically the locomotive details follow CN GP9 practice, with twin spark arrestors, winterization hatch, long hood high bell mount, etc. However the strobe, horns and plow are unique to CV.

Central Vermont 402568 50-foot Plug Door Box Car, CN and DW&P also have this type.
Central Vermont 600421 is a second hand (likely ex-St-Lawrence RR) 50-foot OB Box Car (GTW blue) with red door wheel.
