In late July, EMDX SD70ACe’s 1209 and 1210 had departed the TTCI in Colorado and were headed to CSX St. Louis, MO. and earmarked for TRRA-CSXT. EMDX 1208 was also in transit, destined to EMD La Grange, IL,

On June 28th, CP announced they were seeking expressions of interest and bids for all (or part) of their 42 unit SOO LINE SD6o/SD60M Fleet. This includes the CADRAIL rebuilt CP SD60/SD60M’s which are now all stored with their stacks capped. As well all the serviceable and unserviceable SOO SD60’s stored on the railway are all for sale “As is”. CP will consider sale or lease with a buyout option for the fleet.

The SD60’s were delivered new from EMD Lagrange, IL to the SOO LINE back in 1987-89. The CP website lists these numbers, but there are more: CP6240 CP6245 CP6257 CP6238 SOO6022 SOO6027 CP6250 CP6254 CP6223 CP6249 SOO6051 SOO6033 CP6241 CP6243 CP6221 CP6231 SOO6032 SOO6035 CP6225 CP6229 CP6236 CP6258 CP6248 SOO6037 CP6260 CP6255 CP6230 CP6259 SOO6047 SOO6044 CP6228 CP6234 CP6246 CP6239 SOO6024 SOO6053 CP6242 CP6252 CP6256 CP6262 SOO6026 SOO6061. Interested parties can contact CP ASSETT DISPOSAL (www.cpr.ca) and then submit a formal letter.

At this time CAD Railway Services (Lachine, QC) is still contracted to overhaul the remaining units they have on their property to Tier 0+ compliance, equip them with AESS (Locomotive Automatic Engine Start/Stop) to conserve fuel, and to repaint and renumber them to the CP 6200-series.  None received any cab upgrades. The rebuilt units receive (PTC) Positive Train Control modifications at the CP St-Luc Diesel Shop. However things could change as these units are now for sale.
