Hello Will,

My wife and I were on the second to last Northlander run on September 27th, 2012 and were interviewed at the same time as our Rail Tour leader. We enjoyed the CRO farewell to the ONR Northlander Special Report by Nathan Brown in October.  Here's a link to our own Northlander story, and our picture:

Hello Sir!

My name is Michael Molnar. I have been meaning to send this to you for the past few months but never found the time to do so. A while back I was reading the August 2012 edition and I saw that CP closed the Calgary hump on the 12th of August.  My family and I went out to Calgary on vacation and we stopped at Alyth Yard to do some train spotting. A rail officer pulled up beside us (we weren’t trespassing) and asked us if we were railfans.  I said, “yes Sir” and he said, “I can take you to the hump if you want.”  So we took that opportunity (this was August 1st) and I got some great video of the hump in action.  The officer mentioned to us that they would be closing the hump soon but I had no idea it was that soon.  I have the video on YouTube. It’s edited into a whole railfanning video of Alyth. I was wondering if you would like to put it into an upcoming issue of CRO.  I really enjoy reading the Issues but I don’t see the newest edition since I can’t afford to pay for it (I’m only 14, almost 15).  I think you’re doing a great job on the site.  I hope we can work out a deal!  Here is the link to the video.

Sincerely,

Michael Molnar.

Dear Mr. Oldham,

CRO makes every attempt to quality check our issues before we post, however this error got through and we do apologize to you, and the Train Cellar for this mistake on our part.

It was brought to our attention that Barry was connected to PMI.  This was not the case.  This was a mistake at our end, which we are truly sorry for, and hope that any issues that this has caused will be mended quickly.

The mistake online is corrected and an apology will be noted in our next issue in February 2013. I hope this will be to your satisfaction as you are a valued member of our news magazine.

My buddy Wayne Koch compiled a useful Metro North Railroad Spotter’s Guide, with some terrific roster shots of units past and present such as FL9’s, BL20GH’s and other locos.   Check it out at:    http://www.amherstrail.org/memberpages/WayneKochSpottersguide.html
