LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
We invite you to email your questions and comments: editor@canadianrailwayobservations.com
Dear Readers, CLUB CRO launched May 1st and thanks to the major effort by our webmaster Mike Robin, it went very well. A big thank you, to all our readers, supporters, and advertisers who cared enough to help CRO continue. The first week did have a few gremlins, specifically a few readers were unable to utilize their assigned passwords but by the end of the week, it was smooth sailing again. Most everyone got their Password in a timely fashion too. One thing we learned … shorter Passwords proved superior to the long ones, and going forward we will be using user friendly passwords only. Obviously, with paid subscription our overall reader numbers declined somewhat, but we anticipated this in our decision. CLUB CRO subscribers continue to sign up daily, and we expect a mad rush with the posting of the June 2012 issue. Last month, I missed the email announcement of the May issue, but I have created a new mailing list and you should have received the June CRO announcement. IF NOT … EMAIL ME PLEASE! I battled with the decision to implement a subscription fee for many years, but as donations had dried up, we really had no choice. The good news is, the price is around $2 an issue, with the previous issues free. As one can imagine, paying for server storage, bandwidth, email server costs, and paying internet provider fees has always come out of pocket. When you factor in the hours per day that Mike Robin and I put into creating your monthly CRO issues, you can understand and appreciate why we had no choice. “CLUB CRO” has many benefits for you the reader, which will become apparent to you. One perk is personalized service from Mike Robin and myself, email me for what ver reason. We will email NEW ISSUE ANNOUNCEMENTS on the first of each month, and updates if needed. CLUB CRO Subscriber’s “user name” is your email address, and your assigned “password” will open it.
HAVE A CRO PASSWORD OR PAYMENT ISSUE? Email William Baird at <editor@canadianrailwayobservations.com>, Please understand we will busy sending PASSWORD emails to all new subscribers over the next days, please be patient. We will get to you within 24 hours. Only CLUB CRO members will have access and will receive the new CRO issue announcements, and the CRO hyperlink by email. The mission of CRO remains the same: to inform CRO readers using accurate information obtained from our many reliable sources, and showcase beautiful locomotive shots, and pertinent Canadian train news, compiled and verified over the month, and updated daily. As our “Vignette” segments are very popular with our readers, we included many in this June issue. Please continue to submit photos and your suggestions for future vignettes.
We thank you!
